I found Nancy Berry’s Architectural Hardware such a great design tool that I had to have this book as well. Great series!

Nice pictures and ideas but, needs more detail on how things are done.
Left a little too much up in the air to guess about for this type of finished work. All in all great pictures and ideas.

There are some pretty pictures of nicely done trim in this book.
Luckily, I borrowed this from the library rather than wasting $25
on it.
Beef #1 with it:
Who’s it targeted to? certainly not any professional or entry
professional. Probably not the homeowner. Despite the few pages of
“how to install your chair rail”, defintely not to the installer/
contractor.
Beef #2
One paragraph on Georgian style with a facing picture. The amount of
information is negligible, and yet there is lots of whitespace in this
book. Same with Federal, Victorian, etc.
Out of 10 recent trim/pattern books I’ve read, this one and another were
the 2 weakest. The one strong point is that the authors found some
nice examples to photograph and at least provided profiles of how some
were built. You would get 10 times the amount of information for each
of the stylistic sections just by reading wikipedia.
