The book is full of great patterns. They are easy to follow and the pictures are really good. A book to definately have if you crochet.

I was attracted to this book because of the unique designs. Though I have only just started crochet a year ago, I was able to complete the bobble scarf and hat pattern. It took a little getting used to the British English abbreviations. I can’t wait to tackle another challenge from this book. Be patient with these patterns and I think you will be able to recreate these designs with beautiful results.

While this book may not be for beginners (and thank goodness there are a few books out there for those of us who are experienced — there are hundreds out there for you beginners) and it is too bad she didn’t include stitch symbol diagrams (which are the total bomb), there are many lovely patterns. And many of her designs inspired me to get creative and try doing something “new” with a “vintage” twist or something “vintage” with “new” twist.

The book is beautiful — great layout, “sets” and photography. It has the look and feel of an Anthropologie catalog. Very refreshing since it is so easy for crochet to get really tacky really fast. I say…Well done and thank you Ms. Cropper!

(So, to S. Chung: Do you really need a pattern for a PILLOW??? If so, see my comment on your review…and the stitches used are in every stitch dictionary on the planet — one is a standard dc ripple the other a wave pattern. And the green pillow in the background is knitted. And re mistakes in patterns go join [...] — GREAT site where you can find pattern corrections and/or help from the vast crochet/knit community.)

Not typically the crochet projects I usually like. However, it is a beautiful book. The afghan on the cover is what interested me. The pattern for the afghan is cute and well written.
