There’s a lot to this software and I haven’t used most of the features yet. If anyone is looking for a quick and easy program, this is not it! But if you’re looking to do some serious redesign and don’t want to be making major renovations without some concept of what it might look like, I think this program is worth learning. We used the software to pick out paint colors. The software allowed us to visualize our completed rooms and get a sense of how it would look in a large area. Though it’s not quite the same as seeing it on a wall. We’re going to use it to design a new patio area in our backyard next. It does take some time to learn and to enter all of the dimensions of your home.

HGTV Home and Landscape
I tried the software for HGTV Home and Landscape (Platinum Suite) and I am very impressed with it.
I found the software pretty easy to use, no need of design experience, because I don’t have any, and I was able to navigate with a couple bumps at first, but with basic to medium computer knowledge anyone can use this software and obtain great results.
What I like the most in this software is that it is very detail oriented in order to create your computer design just like the real project. This software is filled with every single item possible to be use in the construction and remodeling of a house. Nothing was left out, from salt and pepper shakers to musical instruments, from a little flower to a grand piano, swing sets, place-mats, fine art, furniture, building material to even pets, the array to choose from is amazing. Inserting the desired objects to the projects is pretty easy, just click on the item and then click where you want it to locate it. My six year old daughter added french marigolds to the landscape on my design, that is how easy.
The fact that you can add your own pictures, makes it real and let you have a better vision of what your home or renovating space will look, making remodeling a breeze, no more regrets after the job is done. Trying different colors in the walls never been so much fun.
The user manual is well detail, easy to understand in plain good English, that will guide you step by step in how to accomplish your task.
This is a great software, it makes it fun to use it. This can be use for small task like choosing the next color for your walls, to totaling building your dream house, includes everything and more you need in order to get a clear view of how your finish product will be. I love it and would definitely recommended.

I love the Home & Landscape software. We are remodeling our bathroom and plan on landscaping the front yard and this is going to be very helpful with that. I love the 3D views and the easy customization. It came with a 600+ page user manual so I know that I haven’t even scratched the surface of what it can do even though I played with it for a few hours. The cost estimating tool is a great feature.

This program goes above and beyond. Not only can you design your exterior landscaping, it allows you to start from scratch indoors as well. I especially like that you can use your own photos – this is perfect for a person who can’t visualize things easily. My wife and I were able to see our kitchen with various cabinet colors, countertops and appliance options. We bought the software for our yard, but can easily see how this can help us with every aspect of our home.

We have never had creativity when it came to our landscaping, so I trusted that the folks at HGTV would be able to help. I really wanted to take advantage of the upcoming rainy season to get our yard in order. This program really delivered! We not only used the software to visualize and choose the plants and fence we wanted, but we also took it one step further and planned out a beautiful deck and seating area. We haven’t built this part yet, but seeing it on the screen is so much fun.
